How You Can Help
Citizens Concerned For Michipicoten Bay are expecting to enter into negotiations with Superior Aggregates Company over the objections CCMB has filed with respect to the Company's quarry licence application under the Aggregate Resources Act. CCMB anticipates that the Company's licence application will likely be referred to the Ontario Municipal Board for resolution. You can assist our effort to present an effective case before the OMB by:
- Making a donation to CCMB to cover legal and professional fees that are being incurred would be greatly appreciated. CCMB has hired an environmental lawyer, a professional planner, and an acoustical engineer to assist with reviews of the project, analysis of the various studies tabled by the Company, and to provide legal advice. Thanks to the support of Environmental Defence, your donations are now tax deductible. Simply follow this link and then follow the online instructions. Please ensure that you indicate that you wish to have your donation directed to CCMB. With the online option, you can donate using your credit card and a tax receipt will be immediately issued to you. CCMB is a non-profit corporation managed totally by volunteers, therefore, your donation is used to cover legitimate fees. We have no staff on payroll. Our sole source of income is from the generosity of people who care about the Lake Superior coastline.
To assist you with your donation, we have created a handy guide that helps instruct you how to make your donation. Included with this guide is some background information about the purpose of CCMB. This guide is suitable to be passed along to friends and colleagues, and can be found here. A pre-filled donation form can be downloaded here.
Another option for donating is to mail your cheque directly to CCMB, made payable to Citizens Concerned for Michipicoten Bay, P.O.Box 2043, Wawa, Ontario, P0S 1K0 (although no tax receipt will be issued if you donate using this option).
